The Story Behind Our Custom Fire Safety Stickers

I used to make these just for us with Johnny's (et al) face/s  on them.  I made the first one when they redecorated our hallways, and painted over my generic fire sticker.  I didn't have one to replace it, and I wanted it back up there right away, so I made one.  While I was doing it, I figured why not put my cats' actual faces in there?  It might increase their chances of being found in the excitement of a real fire, rather than just saying "2 cats" or "3 dogs".  Maybe if rescuers know exactly who they're looking for, they can zero in and move much faster.  So I put it on the door.  Then my neighbors started asking for them, then their friends, and their friends.... Then I realized this is something that all pet owners can benefit from.

One day we had a gas scare.  Firefighters showed up to inspect and on their way out they told me, "that sticker is a really good idea."

I know $25 sounds like a lot for something you can get for free from the ASPCA or local shelter, but it is a custom made thing, takes at least an hour to create and print, sometimes more, and is packaged flat so it doesn't bend.  They come 6 on a page, enough for every door and window, or to save several replacements if you don't need 6 at once.  And I really do believe this can increase a pets' likelihood of rescue in a real emergency.

So, let us know if we can make one for you!  -JD
